The Safiery Induction Single Hob Cooktop is the entry point into Safiery's no-pulsing induction range: a single hob rated at 1800W, built to run cleanly on a 2000W inverter setup rather than the 2400W+ that most domestic induction units demand — which is why generic induction units so often trip a boat or RV inverter and this one doesn't. It suits galleys, campers and off-grid builds where a single burner covers the cooking load, without the price or bench space a dual hob needs. Like the rest of the Safiery range, it uses smooth power delivery instead of the cheap on/off pulsing built into most induction cooktops: no audible clicking, less electromagnetic interference near marine or RV electronics, and even heat across the pan instead of hot cycles and cold gaps. In Safiery's own reference installation it's paired with a Victron Smart 2000W inverter and a single 200Ah lithium battery. The hob itself is compact: a 288mm-diameter top over a 260mm cutout, 85mm deep, with touch controls across three settings (low, medium, maximum), a high-grade black crystal surface, child lock, auto shut-off, overheat protection and empty-pan detection. Compared with the Safiery Dual Hob Cooktops (INC280018001 for AU, INC110018001 for 110V/USA), which cost roughly 2.5x more — the AU dual hob fits a much larger 520 x 290mm footprint — this single hob is the right call when one ring is genuinely enough. As with the rest of the range, it needs ferromagnetic cookware — cast iron, enamel-coated iron, carbon steel or magnetic stainless steel — and runs at around 94% cooking efficiency versus roughly 70% for conventional electric and 40% for LPG, so it draws less from your battery bank per meal, boiling 0.5L of water in about 2 minutes at full power.

Sized to the inverter you already have

Most domestic induction cooktops draw 2400W or more, which is enough to trip a 2000W inverter halfway through dinner. That is why generic induction so often fails in a boat or a van and gets blamed on induction itself. These are built to a 2000W ceiling instead, so they run on the system already under your floor rather than demanding a bigger one.

Real low heat, not full power flickering on and off

Many low-cost induction hobs have one real output: full. They fake a lower setting by switching that output on and off, which is why they click, and why a sauce catches on one side of the pan and stays cold on the other. These deliver continuous power at whatever level you set, so a simmer is genuinely a simmer.

94% of it ends up in the pan

Induction heats the pan directly instead of heating a surface and hoping the pan picks it up. Rated at 94% cooking efficiency against roughly 70% for conventional electric and about 40% for LPG, which is the difference between spending your battery on dinner and spending it on warming the galley. It boils half a litre in about two minutes at 1800W.

What size cutout does it need?

A 260mm circular cutout, for a 288mm top and 85mm of depth below the bench.

Will it trip my inverter?

Not if the inverter is 2000W or better. The combined draw is capped at 2000W, which is the reason this range exists - most domestic induction cooktops ask for 2400W or more and trip a 2000W inverter under load.

What cookware do I need?

Anything ferromagnetic: cast iron, enamel-coated iron, carbon steel, or magnetic stainless steel. If a fridge magnet sticks firmly to the base of the pan, it will work. Aluminium, copper and glass will not.

What does "no pulsing" actually mean?

Many low-cost induction cooktops have one real power level - full - and imitate lower settings by switching it on and off. That is what causes the clicking and the uneven heat across the base of the pan. These deliver continuous power at the level you select instead.
