A dedicated view of battery and charging, with three products in one bundle: Quasar Glass 4 touchscreen, Victron SmartShunt 500A / 50mV (SHU050150050), and Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/30 single-output 230V AU/NZ charger (BPC123047012). The SmartShunt and charger broadcast readings directly to Glass over Bluetooth Instant Readout. View them locally on your phone in VictronConnect as well. Glass monitors the broadcasts; Victron settings are configured in VictronConnect. No communication cable or GX is required for this monitoring path. Normal electrical installation is required: charger AC and DC connections, SmartShunt in the battery circuit, and a 9-24V DC supply for Glass. Enable Instant Readout on compatible firmware and add each device's Bluetooth address and encryption key to Glass. Battery, phone and installation wiring are not included.

See battery state of charge and mains charging together on Quasar Glass. SmartShunt and Blue Smart IP22 send readings directly over Bluetooth, with local phone viewing in VictronConnect too.

Bluetooth carries the data. Power and battery wiring are still required. Glass provides read-only monitoring; configure Victron products in VictronConnect.

More than a voltage reading.

SmartShunt tracks current in and out of the battery to calculate state of charge. Glass puts battery percentage, voltage and net current together, so you can see whether you’re charging or using stored power.

Install the three products

Fit the SmartShunt into the battery circuit, connect the 12V charger and power Glass. Set the shunt capacity and charger profile for your battery using the product manuals.

Enable Instant Readout

Use VictronConnect to update compatible firmware and enable Bluetooth Instant Readout on both devices. Your nearby phone can then show the readings in its local device list.

Add the devices to Glass

Copy each device’s Bluetooth address and Instant Readout encryption key from VictronConnect into Glass once. Glass listens to their broadcasts and displays the readings without a data cable.

Questions

Does “wireless” mean there are no wires at all?

The data connection is wireless. The SmartShunt still goes into the battery circuit, the charger needs its AC supply and DC battery connections, and Glass needs a 9–24V DC supply. You do not need a communication cable from either Victron device to Glass.

How do I see it on my phone?

Use VictronConnect nearby. Its local device list can show Instant Readout from both devices directly over Bluetooth. The phone is reading the Victron devices, not receiving a relay from Glass. Local viewing does not need internet.

Can I change the charger settings from Glass?

Glass monitors the Bluetooth broadcasts; it does not change Victron settings. Use VictronConnect to configure the charger and SmartShunt. A different Quasar package with a Cerbo GX provides supported inverter/charger controls.

Do I need a Cerbo GX, router or subscription?

No GX, router or subscription is needed for this direct Bluetooth monitoring path. Both devices must be within Bluetooth range of Glass. Remote access, networked switching and other system features are separate from this three-product bundle.

Can Glass read Victron equipment I already own?

It can read supported Instant Readout devices with compatible firmware. Enable Instant Readout in VictronConnect, then add each device’s Bluetooth address and encryption key to Glass. Older Blue Smart hardware may not support Instant Readout even after a firmware update; check compatibility before ordering the panel for an existing charger.

What happens if I change a device’s Bluetooth PIN?

Changing or resetting the PIN also changes its Instant Readout encryption key. Copy the new key from VictronConnect into Glass to restore the readings.

What is included in the bundle?

One Quasar Glass 4 panel, one Victron SmartShunt 500A / 50mV and one Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/30 single-output 230V AU/NZ charger. The battery, phone and installation wiring are not included.
