Powercase 12V Bunker 217Ah 2.7kWh
Summary
Product Name
Safiery Powercase 12V Bunker 217Ah 2.7kWh
Overview
The Powercase 12V Bunker is a high-capacity 12V battery storage and monitoring unit designed for vehicle use. It’s housed in a heavy-duty IP67 waterproof enclosure and protects a Safiery Solid State 12V 217Ah lithium battery (2777Wh).
The battery offers high energy density and a long service life, rated up to 10,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
How it works
The unit is designed to be plug-and-play.
- One Anderson input for charging
- Two Anderson outputs to run multiple 12V loads at the same time, such as a fridge or camp lighting
Battery status is monitored by a Victron BMV-712 Smart Monitor. It uses a smart shunt to provide accurate, real-time data on the front display or via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app.
A Victron Smart BatteryProtect is integrated to manage load isolation and low-voltage protection.
Use case
The Powercase can be charged while the vehicle is running, then unplugged and used as a portable 12V power source at camp or on-site. Suits vehicle tubs, tray-backs, ute canopies, and trades who want a removable 12V solution that comes out of the vehicle when needed.
System Configuration
Battery One Safiery Solid State Lithium 12V 217Ah (2777Wh). Stable, compact, and designed for vehicle environments. IEC 62619 compliant. 10,000 cycle life at 80% DoD.
Monitoring Victron BMV-712 Smart Monitor with Smart Shunt for high-accuracy readings. Front display and Bluetooth via the VictronConnect app.

Important Installation Notes
Charger advisory — Orion DC-DC required The Powercase is a battery storage and monitoring unit only. It does not include an internal DC-DC charger.
A Victron Orion 12V-12V DC-DC charger must be installed in the vehicle before the Powercase can be charged from the alternator. The Orion is normally installed within the vehicle itself — it sits between the starter battery and the Powercase Anderson input, and manages the charge profile for the lithium battery.
Without an Orion (or equivalent 12V-12V DC-DC charger) wired in ahead of the Powercase, the unit cannot be charged from the vehicle.
Wiring, voltage drop, and voltage lock-out High-current charging requires correctly sized cabling for the full length of the run between the vehicle’s starter battery, the Orion DC-DC, and the Powercase.
- Voltage drop — Undersized wiring can cause voltage drop. This reduces charging efficiency and may stop the battery from reaching full charge.
- Voltage lock-out — The Orion operates using defined voltage thresholds. When the engine is running, alternator voltage allows the Orion to turn on and charge according to the battery’s set charge and float limits.
- Automatic isolation — When the engine is switched off, system voltage drops. The Orion shuts down automatically, and the Smart BatteryProtect isolates loads if voltage falls below safe levels. This prevents discharge of both the Powercase and the vehicle’s starter battery.
