Issued on July 30, 2025, EO 14324 suspends the duty‑free de minimis exemption under U.S. law (19 U.S.C. 1321(a)(2)(C)) for imports from all countries, regardless of value, effective August 29, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT
Previously, any single import under $800 could enter duty-free under the de minimis rule—but EO 14324 eliminates that benefit entirely for Australian shipments
This means that regardless of the value, imports—including those valued under $800—will now be subject to duties, taxes, fees, and formal customs procedures
The US Govt is asking suppliers to collect this duty from end users and pay it to the USA Govt through a third party agent. As a result a US Tax of 10% will be added to all orders from USA effective immediately Ausgust 26th 2025.

On April 2, 2025, President Donald Trump announced a significant overhaul of U.S. trade policy, introducing a 10% baseline tariff on all imports from Australia. There is no higher tariff burden on Australia which is viewed as a good neighbour.
Independently to this, if the value is less than US$800 the United States maintains a de minimis threshold allowing duty-free importation of goods valued at $800 or less from Australia.
